Each of these three amplifiers has the same topography which is important for active systems. The electronic crossover was cascaded - hf was sorted by the Ecofan tweeter amp which had a built in crossover - into a Waldron 18db electronic crossover for the mids and bass. The amplifiers are all direct coupled (no caps in the signal path), have no nfb, transformer phase splitters and dual mono power supplies with DC filaments. They played into 3-way PRO9TL transmission line speakers - best bass ever at 6db down at 23hz. My first system (late 1960s) was a Garrard SP25 with B and O cartridge, John Gilbert JG20 amplifier and Goodmans Twin Axette speakers. I hesitate to suggest what followed next (bridged Quad 11s and Leak Stereo 20 and a couple of Linn LP12s excepted) which may have included Dynaco, Amcron and Hafler amplifiers and Bose 901s. The equipment rack and a Linn remain but and funnily enough I have reverted to something like my first system - SIT-3 and SEAS Exotic wide rangers.

I'd liked to have listened to a tri-amped Ecofan system for sure. photo perspective suggests a step ladder required to access the top-shelf TT? "reverted to something like my first system - SIT-3 and SEAS Exotic wide rangers" - admirable approach: system simplicity, and quality, is the destination! Who knows, my audio orbit may return me to LP12 + Naim + Image
