Seas supplier looks to have changed. The prestige coax used to be about AU$140 a couple of years ago. They now seem to be handled by the crowd below but their website seems a bit shonky. www.aranmaracoustics.com.au/product.htm

Have a look at the Lii Audio drivers instead and check out their Facebook page where the Leonidas fellow from Holland is working up a series of open baffle systems. I've bought a pair of their W15 woofers and a pair of F15 wide banders direct from them in China. They're very responsive and the drivers are priced very well considering the build quality.

Did you get hit with any tax bringing these in? They sound good? Had been thinking these may be better than the AN like 12in ones that I haven't finished building a cabinet for. My 12in has a very stark increase in the upper range which my idea of putting thick carpet around the driver is unlikely to tame it and may need a big driver to accompany it. Are you running them open baffle like the group does? On a side note, I am almost finished with a box for a diatone p610 copy, and it sounds quite good! I just need a back for them. They're currently on daily break in for TV watching.

Yes, there is GST. I have yet to build. I will use the Leonidas open baffle design. He has called the W15/F15 combo the "Voice Master". It's his favourite. All I need is some free time....

Hi steviewunda, GaryM is of course the Late Gary Morrison, of PureAudio fame. Gary succumbed to melanoma earlier this year, as previously recorded also where here!

Sorry I did not know that till last night, when i messaged someone on a newly joined facebook group, who turned out to be Chilli on DarkLantern - who told me Gary had died. Another hifi genius gone. As Bevan said, a tragic year. Ah well, they would have wanted us to indulge our quest for musical bliss ;-)

I built these last week, based on a Steve Deckert (Decware) design, the Big Betsy ;-) They use the Lii Audio F15 full-range driver Gary mentioned
I'm still fine-tuning my DEQX DSP but they sound great, and at 97db sensitivity they are very easy to drive - I think the Maggies' days are numbered, which is a bit of a shame because they've been wonderful, but moving into tubes has kind of necessitated finding an easier to drive alternative
