One of the guitar greats, and not a bad song writer either. Big fan of the early Fleetwood Mac, purchased all those early singles, the famous Dustbin lp etc. At one point the Green helmed Mac were out selling everyone, Beatles included. If I had to take one Green Mac era disc it would be Disc 1 from the Live in Boston set 1970. The interplay between Green and Danny Kirwan is worth any ones money. Volumes 2 & 3 not so essential with rather to much Jeremy Spencer and not enough Green for my tastes. www.discogs.com/Fleetwood-Mac-Boston-Volume-One/release/5387889

Big fan of his early Fleetwood Mac stuff, solo albums were patchy, thought he died years ago tbh.

Another Peter Green fan here. Enjoy early Fleetwood, but only have a few compilations from that era. My favourite is In Chicago. Have four CDs by Peter from his resurgence era, but haven’t played any for several years. Pretty sure I have a double LP featuring Peter and his Splinter Group performing jazz. Will have find it and have a listen.

RIP. Early Mac was formative listening for me too. Also enjoy his Splinter Group work. Think I've posted on this before. Here's a nice album with an emotional back story: Gary Moore plays Peter's '59 Gibson Les Paul for some of Peter's songs/tunes. The inlay tells the story of the guitar: it obviously had a unique tone. "...Metallica’s Kirk Hammett owns one of the most iconic and revered electric guitars: a 1959 Les Paul Standard that was previously owned by Fleetwood Mac founder Peter Green and, subsequently, by his disciple, Irish rocker Gary Moore. Hammett, a fan of both guitarists, purchased the guitar for a reported $2 million..."

+1 I particularly enjoy any of his live recordings. Was out n about yesterday but have a 4 disc addition of Boston Tea Party which will be getting a spin tonite. There's been a lot of mileage dragged out of those Boston tapes, legal and illicit going back to the 1980s. Shame there's no video to go with it. I find there's a little too much of Jeremy Spencer's rock n roll although his Elmore james impersonations aren't too bad.
