Reissue of Goats Head Soup in several forms due in a couple of months. Of particular interest for vinyl fans is the inclusion of the famed Brussels Affair live show included in a four lp set. The deluxe four disc digital box includes a 120 page book and 5.1 surround sound mix. Not sure if I'll get any of the sets as I have original vinyl and a fairly good Japanese sacd plus the monster Brussels box ( cds, vinyl, watch, book, poster )already. I'll be interested to see where local pricing goes , bit rich for me just to get duplicates with the eternal hope of better sound.

"...Of particular interest for vinyl fans is the inclusion of the famed Brussels Affair live show included in a four lp set...." Thanks for this tip-off cooks, Now this show really does interest me on vinyl. Why can't they just issue it stand-alone? It'll depend on pricing for me too (I have enough 'dross' from other package deals thru chasing a particular item )

Vinyl set currently over $200 on Import cds. The new mix of the original album could be worthwhile if it is handled sympathetically but not really interested in the 2nd lp of outtakes and demos. That makes it bloody expensive to get the two lps of the Brussels show. Shame they dont appear to be releasing that separately but I guess more cash for them doing it this way. There's been a fair number of Stones fans wanting Brussels on lp.

Local pricing for the 4xlp set at a ridiculous $240.That's rich when you can get some of their vault series sets, multi lp/sacd etc for less than $100. Added insult paring the Brussels set down from five sides on the previous big box set to four sides. Just cram those tracks in. The more I peruse current lp prices the happier I am i've got that monkey off my back. Now just need to shake my cafe addiction.:-)

Buy a home coffee machine. We did a few weeks ago, now cafes are almost a thing of the past. Cheaper to make coffee at home as well. You can save up more easily for nice music purchases.

I enjoy the peace and ambiance at a nice cafe early morning. Incentive to go for a walk and pleasant to sit outside when the weather permits and watch the worker bees hurrying to their daily grind.

That’s nice. A trip to the caf here means braving the weather and tourists to get to the queue of people outside the caf next to the noisy traffic at the lights.

Got used to 6.30 coffees on my way to work and some habits are hard to break. Not many tourists in Invercargill at any time of the day.

I like that kind of peacefulness early in the day. I remember going to some cafes in Invercargill, Don St? Do you have a favourite?

I like to spread the love around with at least 14 cafes within a 15 minute stroll not lacking choice. Current favourites are Mooch which is attached to a large department store and a short stroll to the library or the cafe at the motorcycle museum. They're not the best for food but their coffees fine and suit me being nice and quiet early on. AT the motorcycle cafe you can sit and watch the destruction and rebirth of a whole city block across the street, pondering whether the slow decline of your home town will be arrested.

I have a mate in Dunedin and we’ve toured the Catlins. Also on the way to Fjordland. Bluff oysters, omg. I don’t mind Invers, it’s cool!

Why do you get up at 7.30 in the morning when you are retired cooks ? You need to find another regimen ! 57 years of habit. Started with a morning paper route at the age of 11. Usually up by 5am. Like to greet the day with the birds.
