Goodies arrived today! 82500uF of Panasonic for $50 was too good to pass up.

Nice buy, looks like Panasonic FC caps?

No, not FC sadly. Element 14 were not quite so generous.
They are the AMX series.
They seem to have similar ESR to the FC series but are only 2000 hour @ 85 degrees compared to 5000 hours @ 105 for the FC. At $1.5 each I'll take the lower spec.

G'day Guys,
I finally finished up with the new PSU board. I call this one "The Meni" because I like internet memes and this board uses 'meni' small caps.
I decided against a CRC PSU in the end. Minimising cost requires a board no larger than 100x100mm. In a CRC, I worked out I could be dissipating up to 3w across each resistor at max load which from looking at spec sheets requires a 10w resistor to keep temps low.
10w resistors being rather large they were taking up too much space and since Gainclones have great PSRR I think the gains would be marginal.
Ground plane on the bottom layer.
The top layer is split between the +ve and -ve rails.
I am debating whether it is worth the significant rise in cost for 2oz copper traces. 1oz copper would be $3 for 5 pcbs. 2oz copper takes it to $27 for 5.
My thinking is that with board being almost entirely fill, there should be more than sufficient copper to keep the temperature low with 1oz copper.

G'day Guys,
My pcbs arrived today. I love the black FR4 with the white solder mask
O2 Headphone amp boards
My sigma 22 clone for larger reservoir caps
'The Meni' linear PSU pcb for 18mm caps
00940's open source LM3886 boards
Prasi's LT4320 active bridge rectifier boards
'The Backup' preamp version 3.0 for Class A
Relay boards to work with Rod Elliot P33 speaker protection boards.
Bonus kitty shot!
I'm waiting on some parts from mouser so I can start on the LM3886 boards for my next gainclone project. I might have time to start on the meni psu board tonight. The test fit looks quite pretty!

Spares abound if anybody wants them. Free to a good home.
May I recommend the 02 HPA boards, they are made from the original open source gerber files. These are mostly open source or things I have developed from open source so I don't feel the need to charge for them.
I won't distribute the sigma clone boards as I ruthlessly borrowed the intellectual property for my own experiments.

Kitty is still asleep so I guess the boards came out well. Lots to build....
