FYI Technical Audio Devices (TAD) was originally the name given to a project launched by Tokyo-based Pioneer Electronic Corporation (currently Pioneer Corporation) in 1975 to develop high-end speakers for professional use.

Yes, I burned out a Peerless tweeter in one of my Celef Monitors in the 80s(?), when I loaned the speakers for a party at my boss's house
