ROTEL has an interesting company history. And philosophy. See - ROTEL factory tour (from a few years back, by DARKO Audio).

Well, with the recent upheavals at B&W Group (which Rotel has been affiliated with since the 1980s) you can understand that Rotel would maybe be looking at other partners. Sumiko is part of the McIntosh Group, which includes also Sonus Faber, Wadia, Audio Research, a big dealer network. So Rotel's high value SS electronics range would likely fill a niche with dealers selling these brands. Further, the Michi premium range expands Rotel's appeal.
