They just don't work. There are 2 types of ads for Quad electrostatics. 1. Fully refurbished with new panels or 2. Not working needing repair. There does not seem to be anything in between. Why would you buy a speaker thats (in some cases) less than 10 years old & needs full driver replacement. Even if you do repair them you know you will have to again. No doubt they sound great but you would be a braver man than me Gunga Din

Well good luck to whoever bought them. Its amazing how many duff pairs of quads are about, im picking that more mint pairs will become available as older owners drop off there perch and the rellys move them on ? As with much vintage HiFi, provenance is everything isnt it ?
