I got dragged away to the phone before the end but hard to take any list of rock drummers seriously that doesnt include Peart and Baker ? Even Hal Blaine only got a passing mention.

Ricky Wellman...he was the drummer in Miles Davis’ late 80s lineup, along with Marilyn Mazur on percussion. Also agree with Ringo Starr, we went to his Auckland concert and it struck me how economical his arm movements were/are to create such a precisely timed sound.

and...what about Charlie? who with Bill, formed the most under-rated rhythm section in rock (imho). The whole album 'Some Girls' is a superb example of their 'engine room' for the Stones. Of all their output, I'm most fond of this disc. Happy Easter all!
