Sadly not for some time, however I do have (somewhere) a pair of Shaeffer pens which I like.
Nice writing by the way!

As Roger knows, I'm an avid fountain pen enthusiast. I use mine mainly for signatures. One of my currently daily users, a Japanese Sailor 1911S with 14k gold music nib

I have a few.... Probably most cherished is a sterling silver plated Parker with 14K nib, which I received as a gift long ago from an Aunt's family, after I'd donated towards a fund for her medical fees when she was gravely ill. I've been meaning to figure out how to disassemble, clean & restore it.

Lovely Citroen. Can we have a sample to see how that wonderful nib works? I forgot a shot of the pen.

Sadly not for some time, however I do have (somewhere) a pair of Shaeffer pens which I like. Nice writing by the way! Sheaffer is a great brand. I used a Sheaffer Imperial at high school, which I still have but prefer my very similar but more nicely weighted Sheaffer Legacy Heritage deep cut palladium pen

I have one of those too! Its a Parker 75 Cisele. Does it have made in Australia or France on the cap band? Are the tassies (ends) flat or indented? They were made from the mid 60's to mid 90's and are quite widely sort after. Here's a photo of mine. Unfortunately, its a bit beaten up, few dents and scratches as it was a daily user of mine back in the early 80's

Forgot to add DO NOT USE your US cleaner, or any liquids/creams to clean the body of the pen, as it could remove the black enamel of the crosshatch pattern. Just use a soft cloth.
If it has dried up ink in it, then firstly use warm water. If that doesn't work you could try a detergent. As a last resort a 10:1 ammonia solution can be used to flush it out but don't soak it in it, and always rinse well afterwards. You shouldn't have to remove the nib or section to clean it, unless it has very stubborn gunge. Its a simple friction fit but of course be careful not to twist the nib.
If you have the original pressure pump filled ink converter, the rubber sac might have perished. These can be changed. Or just use an ink cartridge instead. The standard international cartridge won't work, so you'll have to use a proprietary Parker one, but these are readily available.

I used it a bit back then, but it is now in rather a sad state of neglect, as you can see.. The ink pump rubber seems fine. The nib is XF & perhaps I would prefer something broader. Unfortunately I have not seen the case for a long while - it might be in a box somewhere. (I have also a matching ball-point pen - which I did try locally (unsuccessfully) to obtain refills for a while back, but I see some on AliExpress nowadays.)

I think US stop making these late 70's/early 80's shifting production to France.
Surprised the rubber is intact. I lost my pump convertor decades ago. Yes, that chrome plating on the section's ring is well pitted.
Also surprised the standard ballpoint refill was so hard to find, as nowadays I see they have stock at all the common places like OfficeMax, Warehouse Stationery etc although they're not cheap at around $10 each!

It was a very popular design. Mine is a later France made. The rarer Aus ones can fetch a bit. Some of my other pens (from mid century onwards)

Surprised the rubber is intact. I lost my pump convertor decades ago. Yes, that chrome plating on the section's ring is well pitted. I will need to check the squeeze converter with actual ink. The 'silver' collar at the base of the nib... It's either alumin or SS, probably the former. There's no 'pitting', just some ink residue, which comes off easily. My last pic above gives an erroneous impression.... you are right that the machine-cut lines are black paint-filled & what the above pic shows is actually dirt(!) covering the black paint (in that centre part of the pen mainly). The black infill is visible elsewhere. Fortunately, I don't think there's been any over-zealous cleaning over the years! Some mini-scratches here & there, you might call that normal 'patina'. There is some blue-black 'oxidation' around the gold top cap, possibly air 'pollution' effect on the gold plating, not sure. Any restoration will require some gentle work I suspect. Thanks. (Quite a 'floral' collection, you have.)

nice colourful collection Monsieur C i might have over cleaned my set, i used a little silvo to clean off the tarnish but might have dulled the inset black.

Sounds like it will clean up quite easily actually I do have a few black and silver pens. I particularly like the cigar shaped ones. (Sheaffer, Waterman, Montblanc, Sailor, Platinum)

what ink do you feed your pens ? the mainstream parker/quink, pelikan, pilot etc or something exotic ?
ps, found an earlier pic but can't quite make out the writing on my small phone screen.
pilot ass-gas ink ?

Yes indeed, I like the Sheaffers too, their nib design esp. Nothing beats a nice inlaid nib. Only problem is you have to change the whole section if you damage it, or want a different nib size. I've recently bought a resin pen from a relatively new Italian pen manufacturer, which has easily replaceable screw on nibs. So can use the same pen body with either a Fine, Medium, Broad or Stub nib, albeit steel not gold.

Haven't really delved too much into inks. Stables over the years were Stephens, Quink (Permanent Blue ), Waterman (Serenity/Mysterious Blue). Recently got into Pilot Inks. Iroshizuku series. Asa-gao which translates to "Morning Glory", the lovely blue flower, not the Urban Dictionary meaning! Never used a quill pen but have used a glass dip pen, such as
