No one I know of in NZ doing repairs on these. Good opportunity for you ! Colinf worked on my 57s but has since buggered off to the UK.

I have heard nicely refurbished Quad 57s (& Quad amps?) done by an Akld tech. Will check, stay posted.

I do miss being down under, feeling a little homesick tbh. Christmas should be spent on the beach, not in front of the heater watching the storms lash outside! But being in the UK here, this is the country that made Quad, Leak, Mullard, EAR, Rega, Garrard, etc. Great transformer makers nearby, Sowter, Majestic, NDE just down the road who wind coils for Rega cartridges.... I can see why Brits come up with classic designs. The weather is no good outside, gardens are small and people spend their time indoors designing!

Yes well ever since you did your Harry and Meghan act it has been a little difficult finding techs to fix my collection of oddities. So they are all sitting in a pile awaiting your return !
28 degrees here in Nelson today, lovely day. Lawn doesnt need mowing cos its all dust and dandelions.

Hi Neil - you probably have this info already from Paul, I understand that he has contact info for a Quad tech who worked on mutual friend Mark's QUAD ESL (57)s. My contact has just given me contact details for Andy Jurgens (likely the same person) who refurbished his Quad ESL57s. Of course, the ESL63s are a different beast.

Thanks for that Owen, hopefully I will never be needing his services.

Thanks Owen, I hadn't thought of Andy. A few years back I refurbed my own pair of 57s, which I subsequently sold, but I just can't be arsed doing it these days. I don't have the time, space or inclination. I'll pass on Andy's details.

Hi Neil - sorry, my pal has just advised that Andy has informed him that he no longer services Quads - it's been 2-3 yrs since he'd spoken to him).

Maybe Soundline might know of somewhere ? IIRC there were a couple of restorers in Australia ?

Hi, is there anyone around who can repair Quad electrostatics, preferably in Auckland? Cheers No reply and I am not surprised. Even though I run boxed speakers I want to be wrong! It is a dream for me to run Quads. OK TBH I do not have the room in my lounge but you know what I mean.

What’s wrong with the 63s anyway? Might be able to look into into it.
