It's nice and familiar to hear songs as they have been recorded.
But I like variety, and don't mind an artist reinterpreting their work. A live audience can give immediate feedback, good or otherwise.

IMHO, if you go to live concerts just to hear artists perform exactly as recorded, then you may as well save the $$ & listen on a high quality music system at home. OTOH, if you want to get to know more about your favourite musicians as 'people', go see them live, hear them speak, interact with an audience. I've developed a great deal more enthusiasm for certain musicians, after attending their live concerts - especially in a good venue.

Agree with the above... Went to see AC/DC in the bucketing rain many seasons back and if you didnt already know the song forget trying to sing along as it would have been totally impossible!!!
