I’ll let you know as soon as it arrives. Thank you.
I am a non-recovering audioholic, and Ivor is my higher power.

Actually the last week or so the couriers seem to have been quite good in Auckland anyhow.
Similar delivery times to pre covid.

Just not anywhere south of Auckland then...
Waiting for parts at work has become an exercise in frustration. Whats more all the pricks are working from home so you cant even get hold of anybody on the phone. And if anyone here works for Honda NZ.....

Looking in the long term to maybe replace the 103R with something a bit better, but finances have to recover first!

I have a LP12/Ittok/Troika/iFi iPhono3 combination, and I would be very interested to hear how the Hana ML performed on the Ittok - are you still around LinnBoy?

Good to see you made it along here, stevie! Hope the LP12 is treating you well. 😀 If you’re looking at a new cartridge in this price-range, there is a solid short list of options that are well covered by Jon and others on here over the past year or so.
FWIW, having bought a Hana for my “new” record player, I can happily recommend without hesitation. I think it’ll really bring the Sondek to life for you, and you’ll also benefit from the increased “gain” from the higher output cartridge.
The other cart I had considered for the Linn / Ittok, based on recommendations from this forum, was the Lyra Delos. It seems we enjoy (relatively) favourable pricing in NZ for Lyra, so the Delos isn’t usually a direct comparison with the ML on “international” review / forum sites. Plenty of options, either way!

Hanas seem to be a good match for the iPhono3.

Hi Dave and Colin - thanks for the input. I tried the Hana ML and couldn't honestly say that I preferred it to the Troika after some fine-tuning. I don't know what had happened to the Troika but the tracking alignment, VTF and VTA all needed adjustment. On Ian's advice (cartridgeguyonline) I also tried an Ortofon 2M Black, and again I preferred the Troika - so, because I have more money than sense, (and that's no fortune, believe me) I have sent the Troika to Soundsmith in NY for appraisal/possible rebuild....more for reassurance than because it sounded like it needed work. Meanwhile, I have bought some Magnepans which I'm running off my Denon receiver until my AudioControl receiver arrives. And they sound wonderful even with the Denon's limitations. So in conjunction with the iPhono 3 phono preamp, the Denafrips DAC which should arrive any day, and a possibly refurbed Troika......I can look fwd to a pauper's grave with fabulous music ringing in my ears ;-)

Hi Jon After a long period of assessment, deliberation and reflection I have come to a conclusion. I love the Hana for its incisiveness, its ability to dance, and it's poise. It is indeed a brilliant cartridge. The Jo is much subtler in its way as it exposes the inner workings of any piece, it is quite shocking in its ability to surprise however it took me some time to realise how it opened up the music and allowed instruments to breath. This musicality is what I prize the most. I have bought the Jo, and have with much regret and no little sadness parted with the Hana. Can I ask what TT and arm you're using the Jo with? Any update on living with it this last couple of yrs? Thanks

Hi Rod So it is attached to an Origin Live Illustrious Mark IV. It has also been attached to Vic's terminator arm. The Illustrious is sitting on this turntable: darklantern.proboards.com/thread/214/breve-turntableThe cart has performed beautifully over that period. There is very little wear currently - my eyesight is none too good so take that with a pinch of salt. However to my ears the sound is still in the very good - awesome category.
