PureAudioProject - this European (Israel) company has been establishing their presence in USA for a couple of years - darklantern.proboards.com/thread/641/rocky-mountain-audio-fest-2017Show reports have been mostly uniformly positive. Offering initially modular, open baffle loudspeakers, now a complete loudspeaker system, the Trio 15 Classic- combining the natural sonic appeal of a box-less loudspeaker, together with excellent LF performance. Drivers are Voxative (German, mid-HF, high sensitivity) + Eminence (USA, long-renowned for loudspeaker drivers, especially bass units). US$7990/pr. PureAudioProjectSteve Guttenberg is more than impressed: " Their sound is effortless... extremely dynamic... more depth from the soundstage, big, spacious, open... excells in the midrange. " " The speed of these woofers is just in another class from everything else. "

Never heard of eminence speakers used in a HiFi application before, ive commonly seen them used in Fender guitar amplifiers, where they are not highly thought of at all.

The Eminence sourced driver Z'ev uses are ideal for open baffle. They have large cone area so don't have to use much excursion, and they have a suitably high Qts which allows them to make good bass without an enclosure. Because they operate below a few hundred hertz there is no problem with cone breakup. Martin King has published a lot of work on open baffle and Eminence drivers feature widely in that.

why are they called trio 15 when there are 4x 15's who got the pureaudio name first ?

Eminence-based Hawthorne open baffle speakers, circa 2008, that I constructed using imported drivers and crossovers. Daryl Hawthorne had Eminence make these coaxial drivers (top) and the bass drivers (bottom) to his specs. n.b. both 15inch... Alluring, clean sounding drivers, they provided quality listening pleasure over many years. And, when called upon, they could really 'move' the air, thats for sure... (they're now moved on to a west auckland enthusiast)

I'm not sure it's the Deltalite. That doesn't have the right Qts, it's spec at .38 while the PureaudioProject one is .7. It may be based on the Deltalite frame though. They say it's custom made for them. You can buy the drivers direct from PureaudioProject.

why are they called trio 15 when there are 4x 15's who got the pureaudio name first ? Trio - 3 drivers per baffle. We were there first and when they emerged we had a discussion about the way the name was written and used and they adapted to avoid conflict.

Never heard of eminence speakers used in a HiFi application before, ive commonly seen them used in Fender guitar amplifiers, where they are not highly thought of at all. Lots of Eminence drivers are used in Hifi albeit modified or built to a desired spec. Bastanis use Eminence and so do Zu Audio
