I'm in the market for a new Blu Ray player. Budget is $500-1000, must have latest features (Dolby Vision etc) and twin HDMI out. I've done a bit of research, Sony and Panasonic are obvious choices but every time I look at someone's top 10 list not surprisingly they offer differing opinions...

good luck. over the last year i've been looking at 4k uhd players to replace my oppo 103. so far none have the same suite of features as the oppo - i need online apps, more than one usb etc. i like the panny 9000 and pioneer udp-lx500 but both are $2k-ish, maybe deano at rapallo can do a deal ? under $1k , you're not going to fill your wanted list but the old panny 900 is a good deal at JB www.jbhifi.co.nz/panasonic/panasonic-dmp-ub900gnk-4k-ultra-hd-blu-ray-player/313240/

Thanks Micheal, I find video frustrating, tech moves too quickly and gear gets out of date. Hard to justify spending nearly 2K given the amount of movies I watch but I'll probably end up talking myself into it...

Leaning towards the Pioneer, reports have it sounding better on CD playback which is a bonus.
