Cowboy Junkies return to NZ after 20 years, playing Akld, Wgtn, ChCh in May 2020. Margo Timmins is interviewed just recently by Marty Duda on the 13th Floor:

Chch is tempting. I haven't been to a live concert since Roxy Music at the Wembly Centre in 1976.

Does anybody ever listen to anything of theirs apart from the first album ? Haha CGoL, I'm guilty... nostalgic b'stard that I am, their song: 'Crescent Moon' would be on my 'best of' list. and their Nomad Series is never for from my player

Yes me too, I think I have 4 or 5 of their LPs but only ever play Trinity Sessions...

Most C Junkies fans would be mostly attracted by Margo Timmins' extraodinary voice & my expectation is that in live concert she would be memorable. Not only Junkies compositions, but everything she touches seems to be rendered in a magical way & the venues announced in NZ are probably adequately intimate too.

It looks like Nephew Les is keen to go: " Love them! Got all their albums except the Nomad series... "

It looks like Nephew Les is keen to go: " Love them! Got all their albums except the Nomad series... " Some interesting music on the Nomad Series. I originally missed the vinyl box, picked up the albums individually then lucked out with a UK site selling just the bare box and the special release and booklet unique to that set. So in the end got there but not sure it was the most cost effective route.

I see Whitcoulls are still listing the rather expensive cloth bound book detailing the creation etc of the Nomad Series. It was a step too far for me then and still is for a book that would probably be read only once. Besides the Vic Chesnutt covers album I probably listen more to their debut release, Whites off The Earth more than the Trinity lp.

The Bruce Mason should be a moderately decent (not too large) venue in which to experience Margo's voice in particular.
