Deutsche Grammophon have released series of 24bit/96kHz Blu-ray audio, commemorating the 30th anniversary of the passing of Herbert von Karajan on 16 July.
DAGOGO reports the release of Herbert von Karajan's Bruckner & Tchaikovsky symphony cycles:
“ Remastered at 24bit / 96kHz from original analogue sources, these are released on Blu-ray audio for the first time accompanying 4- and 9-CD sets of the same re-masterings respectively. The Bruckner release is now available, while the Tchaikovsky Symphony set is now available for pre-order. ”
Bruckner - 9 CDs + 1 Blu-ray Audio.
Tchaikovsky - 4 CDs + 1 Blu-ray Audio.
I know little about Blu-ray Audio, but it looks like you can get 9 Symphonies (around 6 hours of music) easily onto a Blu-ray disc.
