I 've never heard of Electric Wire Hustle - Love Can Prevail. Will have to check them out. EWH are a local soul / funk outfit, fronted by Mara TK. (Yes, that Te Kahika) To be honest, I would start with their outstanding debut album which came out on CD about 10 years ago (... and then in 2012 BBE gave it a limited vinyl re-release) www.discogs.com/Electric-Wire-Hustle-Electric-Wire-Hustle/release/3565845

Or you could try the analogue version.
I take a lucky dip approach by pulling a random LP out of my collection and commit to giving it listen even if the idea of it doesn't spin my wheels. I usually either bail after the first two songs or end up listening to both sides and rediscovering a long forgotten gem.

Dave Clarke Five, Joan Jett are fairly mainstream?

DC5 almost as big as the Beatles for a brief moment. I had some of their early singles, quite catchy, but their lps never measured up. Clark was bright enough to keep ownership of their masters but has mismanaged things in later years missing the cd boom despite a lot of interest in the States.

Have just played a few of their hits. Familiar Beatles-like sound but nevertheless still unfamiliar to me. Somehow DC5 has flown well under my radar!

Obviously not a child of the 60s then Citroen. Their lead singer wasn't too bad but Clark's drumming was pretty basic. They seem to have lasted better in the States than elsewhere. Pretty sure I'd moved on by the time I hit 13.

Actually I'm a child born in the 60's. But not from a musical family. I do remember a day at primary school when some dude called Elvis died and EVERYONE was sad but I had NO idea who he was!
