My long serving Pure AV unit needs some minor repair work, namely replacement plastic face plates that cover each rear receptacle and act as a guide. These are held in place with a small screw in the centre of the plate. Over the years I have managed to crack or totally break 4 or 5 of these, mainly the result of working blind from the front and lack of space. Anyone seen anything like these? Thanks 6 sided dice simulator

Jaycar and several others sell white mains panel sockets, but not black: www.jaycar.co.nz/mains-panel-socket/p/PS4094Rackpower NZ make rack mains strips that use either black or white mains panel sockets, I suggest you send them an email, including a closeup snap of your back panel, and see if they will sell you the sockets separately. You'll have to buy the complete socket, not just the faceplate, and should cost under $10 each. When you mount them you'll have to remove the cover of your AV unit and hold each receptacle while you remove the screw as that screw is holding the whole thing in place, then having removed the faceplate off the replacement receptacle position it on the AV unit panel and screw it onto the existing receptacle. They should be a direct replacement. Check the amperage rating on the plug faceplate, (I think it will be 10 amps) and specify that. PS. I lightened your pic to see it more clearly. sales@rackpower.co.nz

They've been damaged as I struggle to fit the plug into the socket. Some of them have a death grip once you're about 3/4 in. May be better to disconnect everything, pull the Pure AV off the rack, fit the leads then try and tread them up the back of the rack into their respective units. I had all the power cords shorted several years ago with better quality plugs fitted so I don't usually have much room to come and go with.

Picked up a socket from Jaycar to try and although the white face plates are slightly larger in diameter they do work ok. Frustratingly with the Pure AV (pf40) out of the rack I now see that at least 10 of the 12 original plates are compromised. The thin plastic plate obviously wont take much stress but the socket to plug fit is very firm and always takes some wriggling and a firm push for full engagement. At this stage debating whether to continue with further repairs or look at more user friendly options to suit my circumstances.

I checked with Rackpower NZ and they can supply white or black sockets for $7.90 + GST. They are a bit cheaper than the Jaycar ones. Another option might be to use a 'socket saver' in the form of a tapon plug. These are more heavy duty than the ones fitted on your Pure AV. The idea being that you piggyback that between the equipment plugs and the Pure AV, but being an audiophile that might not appeal. They are not cheap either at $14.73 + GST. I'm sorry I can't be of more help. www.showtechnix.co.nz/store/pdl-940/

Mine all cracked on my Belkin years ago! They sent me a load of replacement sockets when I contacted them I'd try that.

Thanks for the assistance gents. At this stage I have back ordered a PS Audio Dectec unit that will take up less space and be much easier for connecting to. I will chase up Belkin as suggested but these units are oop so don't hold out great hopes in that direction. Once the PS unit arrives I'll fit the Belkin into my bedroom system which currently has no surge protection and there's a large empty space on the bottom shelf of the Sanus racks that cries out to be filled.
