Just discovered I have 2000 new LP's!
Waited a few months after selling some gear ( a rule in our house!) before trying out the latest Dynavector P75/4 , as I have had the Mk2 then the Mk3.
Certainly better than the previous versions. Bit more bass which the 3 was lacking, and a cleaner sound.
Anyhow,a few days after getting the P75 I had a chance to listen to the Pureaudio LV-1.
Which I decided to do even though I'd already bought the P75.
Glad I did!
The LV-1 has a slightly fuller bass compared to the P75. Ability to pick out bass lines not affected.
Soundstage sounds to me about the same. Can't hear any detail missing between the two.
P75 has more gain at same volume setting.
No noise from either in my system.
After playing many LP's I've come to the conclusion that the LV-1 sounds better than the P75/4.
It's easier to listen to,on all LP's.The P75/4 has an edge to it (more analytical?) and it can be painful to listen through something like John Denver's LP "Some Days are Diamonds", one of the brightest LP's I've struck.
With the LV-1 it's still bright but the voice is a bit warmer, well every instrument is!
Another "test" LP is Abba's Super Trouper, in which some of the backing voices can be edgy to hear.
Again better with the LV-1.
Have listened to many LPs, violin, rock, pop, orchestral, choral, piano, and with all I prefer the LV-1, definitely, having a more relaxed natural sound.(As opposed to a "HIFI" sound!)
On all I've played I've thought why have I been missing this until now.
Guess it's not as good as the Pure Vinyl phono stage but I'm not likely to be able to afford that one.
But this one is staying. Not sure about the P75/4 yet!
So in my opinion there's not a lot between the 2 phono stages, but the LV-1 wins out on listenability.
More analog than digital sounding?
My gear... might help someone to relate to.
