" With the right amp, with dynamics that just opens up, the bass goes to the centre of the earth.... resolution to die for... but, it's expensive! "

Agree with some aspects of the Abyss AB1266 Phi headphone, it truly has inimitable bass, limitless dynamics and overall wow factor. Although you need a good headphone amp to drive it as they’re a little inefficient. Not heard the Diana Phi yet so can’t comment. But for me the Stax SR-009S has more naturally transparent and delicate mids that could be less fatiguing on a longer listen. They don’t have the whopping Abyss bass though. The Focal Utopias have clear midrange and top end like the Abyss but lighter bass like the Stax. I guess it depends what you’re listening to. Rock, jazz, anything with rhythm and big soundstage: Abyss. Chamber music, accurate percussion, anything with natural ambience and tonal structure: Stax.
