Nah that cant be right, I dont see BOSE anywhere there. I am reliably informed by my son who works at JB that the BOSE ones outsell everything else by a factor of 10:1, despite being the most expensive.

While travelling earlier in the year I auditioned Bose expecting them to be great but found them very tight on the head. Tried the Sony WH-1000XM3 and was completely surprised and delighted at how good they were. Really glad I tried them out before I leaped in just on the name.

Have never used any noise cancelling phones, how effective are they in cutting down airplane noise ?

The Bose has been the NC benchmark for a few years, but the latest Sony models are the goods they say. Bose however, always had legendary marketing Sony's smartphone app with Adaptive Sound Control, is really useful I hear, for tailoring NC & tone to suit conditions & personal taste. (I have a pair of the Sony WH1000-XM3 in-house here (not mine) & will give them a trial myself. Unfortunately did not have them on the recent long-haul to HK-Taipei.) More reviews: GIZMODO iKream

And a nice shot of your Speedmaster ! Calibre 861 ? Well spotted (not mine), it's a ref. 3570.50 with calibre 1861 movement possibly. Not a pre-moon calibre 321 unfortunately - I'm told.

Citroen - those Jabra look to be high end design & pricing - but v little audiophile exposure?

Microphone and voice are superb on the Jabra. Music is slightly rolled off at the top and slightly loose at the bottom, but the important mids are crystal clear. Perfect for Skype meetings, quite good in between calls listening to music. Reviews seem to make the Sony MX3 an even better sounding HP but for about the same price as the Jabra (not heard the MX2 or MX3 to compare).
