TOSLINK input for TV hook-up. Currently configured as a solo unit, the Reactor will go stereo early next year with the addition of a second unit and a simple in-app upgrade.

The question is, will we see it in New Zealand?

Hmmm.... they don't really distribute it anymore... but they do... but they won't... I'm picking the current stockists will be dumping stock. Now if Devialet themselves setup a store in NZ (Queen Street would 'fit their image') I would be interested to see if it could make rent!

John DARKO puts the cost-value case for investing in a pair of the latest version of the DEVIALET Phantom Reactor 900 'streaming loudspeakers' - at US$1350 (NZ$2999) a piece, in order to get proper 'stereo'. The Phantom Reactor is a smaller version/s of the original DEVIALET Phantom loudspeaker. This newest Devialet Phantom Reactor 900 (& also a lower powered Phantom Reactor 600 model - NZ$2499) is also now in-app 'stereo-pairing' enabled. With no interconnecting wiring between (unlike the KEF LS50 Wireless). " This is the easiest hi-fi device to set up that I've probably ever used. " " If you want a hi-fi system that is non-intrusive visually...a minimalist's dream " " So much bass from such a small 'box' " " An exceptionally detailed loudspeaker. " Used as a stereo pair,... " image specificity is absolutely spot-on " However... " Tonal balance is a little bit cool...emotionally distant...a minor nitpick "

Has anyone had serious time with the Phantom? I heard them & was underwhelmed - in fact did not like the sound at all. Not to mention the wobbling bass units looked ridiculous. The sales staff were telling me how much I liked them & how wonderful they were, yeah nah. "Emotionally distant" the perfect quote I found the soulless. Amazing tech & truly fresh thinking but I would take a 40 year old pair of JBL L100 over them anyday

Have one on Demo at Rapallo and feel the same, quite disappointing actully, harsh treble and I feel there is quite a miss match in the mid range and bass

Has anyone tried a stereo pair?

I've heard the Reactor's with the claimed 900W... but not stereo paired. I was completely under-whelmed, upper-mids were grating. A single mono Gold was a far more palatable proposition for me.
