Billy Bragg takes me back, to the 80s-90s working at The Schoolhouse in Federal St. My Billy Bragg collection is a bit dated now. I saw him back then, in '87(?) I think. I still remember the raw guitar tone. He's a regular visitor here, but I've never seen him since. The Hollywood is a cool venue, quite posh now. Which of the 3 are you attending? (Or all 3?!)

But I fear that he may be maturing into a nostalgic old Brit geezer...

First saw him in the mid 80's, in Brixton an especially rough part of London back then. Followed his work through the 80s but lost touch in the 90's/2000's until The Mermaid Avenue releases rekindled my interest. Only going to the Wednesday performance. But yes, all three would've been great!

I've been inspired to work my way through this discography, starting of course at the beginning with Life's A Riot With Spy vs Spy Ah, Milkman of Human Kindness, A New England, Man In the Iron Mask...brilliant

In the 70s we lived in Raynes Park in Sth London, lots of Jamaicans & disquiet in Brixton. The infamous Brixton riots took place in the 80s. In the 90s they then had to contend with gentrification LOL

Was after the riots...I think. My memory is not as good as it used to be... I do remember we got the subway but had some way to walk to the venue. The area was depressed and grubby, and non-white. But had great greasy food after the show!
