i love this traditional italian festive treat. like a giant muffin it sits waiting to be opened and consumed over the course of many weeks. equally it has become the butt of many a foodie joke and the subject of frequent re-gifting. last year i got one that had clearly done the rounds and was recognized by visiting friends. this year's one looks a bit boring, with no signs of fruit on the package Attachments:

I too like panettone. They are not that bad as mentioned here "www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2013/dec/24/panettone-festive-delicacy-italian-monstrosity"

No Panettone this year, but something new (for me) this year... Marzipan Christmas Stollen (German spicy fruit/nut bread).
