Having inhabited the world of design most of my working life, I've always admired the look of these pARTicular rack designs: Not DIY but inspirational maybe. (A San Francisco company.) In particular (pun  ) these 'semi-suspended' styles:

We moved the above post, as I don't think the forum has a thread showing Hifi Racks or furniture. Yours or others that you admire or covet. There may be some overlap with our Nice Listening Rooms thread. Do you have a nice hifi rack of your own, or spotted any good ones lately?

wifi ! lol i like wood for hifi furntiture - racks, speaker stands etc. mr parmenter makes some nice ones out of solid maple

not a fan of complicated suspended racks or the tuned systems like the finite-elements. nor metal, glass monstrosities. just simple wood

I like the Soul to Sole rack and amp stand in my room. Nicely made, nice to look at and functional. Two pieces that I cant ever see myself replacing. You'd need better ears than mine to appreciate what ever benefits some of the uber exprnsive racks supposedly bring.

soul to sole racks are great value. truly egalitarian products. i know of one used in a budget system and one in $100k+ system
