Just hit buy now on TradeMe for van Morrison new release - Versatile - we’ll reviewed. NZ seller lists at $59.50 plus $9.90 delivery. USA seller lists at $28.27 including delivery! Who should I buy from?!! Yeah right! I wonder why the crazy difference in price? I would prefer to buy from a nz seller, but the difference in price is ridiculous.

Yep, agree completely. I would prefer to buy locally to support local people or business but have an aversion to being ripped off. Another example of this is the little Chinese made stylus pressure gauge that is available from multiple sites. Currently on Trade Me for $29.66, I bought mine from ebay for $7.50 US with free international shipping. Total $10 nz. I would however never buy expensive items on line as I would want to actually see the item first. Buyer Beware !

Theres no need to buy NZ if the retailers arent going to get realistic. Ok profit isnt a dirty word but I think some of the NZ retailers need a bit of a wake up. The world is a global shop. For the most part delivery is safe and reliable. We NEED retailers to hold stock and obviously buildings need paying for...if indeed they have a building. In alot of cases items are purchased, paid for and then supplied after arriving. In many cases items are purchased from reviews online. I personally have done this a few times. Lets support retailers sure but please dont get upset when after youve had the opportunity to supply and you get beaten you cant cry fowl. Obviously there are warranty issues that come into play if there are performance issues and these can present issues if the purchase has been from overseas. This only applies to new gear obviously.

A good retailer will not just simply assemble a stable of impressive brands, but a good retailer will form relationships with good suppliers & manufacturers. There have been a few notable times when I have had faulty products replaced by a retailer - sometimes even outside of wty period, simply because the supplier/distributor supports the product brand & its reputation. Sadly, this is not always the case in hifi/audio retailing - although I have had little recent experience in purchasing new hardware.

Because they understand that the vinyl resurgence is at its peak and there's only one direction for the market to trend from here...
So they will price-gouge hipsters while they can. As per usual, those 'in the know' or prepared to do research will find another place to purchase.
