it could do with his restorative touch i hate the use of the suffix -considering it's age. something is either in "superb condition" or not age has nothing to do with it.

a lot of money for something that still needs a plynth and arm You could easily add a couple of grand or more to get it up and running.

I'm inclined to agree with Nakmad and Owen that the price is possibly at the upper end of expectation but we shall see. I have a couple of TD124s, one that I am mildly refurbishing as it is in very good condition, and one with a very early serial number (2131) that I bought already refurbished from Greg Metz (STS). This one on TradeMe appears to be an early model also - s/no 4337. Without wishing to 'white ant' the sale I was surprised at the seller's comments about the cracked rubber on the idler wheel. The idler wheel on the TD124 I am working on (s/no 16543) shows no cracks in the rubber at all. Replacement idler wheels are available from Schopper, Audio Silente and Artisan Fidelity for prices ranging from US$61 -385.
