Hi Andrew Wow...someone's gonna be happy if they score your Harbeth's. Harbeth's are the only box speaker I'd go back to. Good luck with the sale.

congratulations! we take a real hiding when bought new. ironically, for a long time these were my ideal speaker and i would have grabbed them very early on...but then i stumbled upon the living voices. no going anywhere from them! i've been wondering about putting the tt on at a dollar start - probably get within a few hundred of what i'm after and at least get the watchers bidding. better than a long slow drop in asking price.

Nah. Be patient, it’s worth what you’re asking and a $1 auction isn’t always a gauranteed thing. Timing is everything there as it’s not everyone’s cup of tea. My 2c.

To be fair to the purchaser Ill keep it private as he well may wish it like that. Hes certainly got them at a very smart price indeed and they were [are] totally mint in every way. Why people bother purchasing new in many fields is beyond me. Obviously guarantees for electronics are very rarely transferable. The world is a global shop and a good amount of the dealers dont hold stock but get it as ordered. Ok not always and I also believe being in the audio business there can be alot of money required for stock and the regular purchasing of gear to keep agencies alive and secure. Ive purchased alot of second hand gear (a couple of items from members here and have always been 100% happy) product represented accurately and at a substantial discount from the rrp. Anyway rant over...
$1 auctions can be a very good idea but Id always have someone in back up to buy the item if it didnt get near to expectations. Id also be very careful of finishing times. Just my 2c worth. Its DEFINATELY a buyers market!!
Ill add some posts on new toys in the near future as Im extremely happy
