Hi guys and girls (hope there are at least a few). I was on the Audioenz forum (same username) and generally enjoyed participating there. Really struggled with it in its last iteration, and tried Witchdoctor which sucked. It's sorta soured me on the whole forum thing. In the last couple of years I've been much more interested in the music rather than the equipment. Sure what I've got at home ain't rubbish, and it's well connected, but it"s never gonna be considered high end. And.... oddly enough..... because I've stopped worrying about how good it is or isn't, I'm content in my listening. This situation probably won't last for ever, but for now, it's enough. My other real interest is in building cables, which quite a few of you have purchased from me. The usually overwhelmingly positive feedback I've received from buyers has really helped me deal with other more negative aspects of my life, such as my day job working for an arsehole control freak. And as much as I'd love to post here more often, I have little to contribute, but enjoy seeing what you nutters are up to. This forum seems to be gathering momentum and has a nice vibe to it..... so post until it hurts. Respect to you all!

Welcome clothears great to have you here, what system do you have I have a DLink NAS Box on my home network which contains all my music ripped from CD in FLAC format. In the lounge I have an Onkyo TX1010 Network AVR with Oppo 983 DVD and a PS3. Castle Knight 5 mains with Castle Lincoln centre and a pair of Celestion Ditton 100 rears. Display is a Panasonic 42" Plasma panel. Can't see which model it is as it's wall mounted. It's a few years old now, but will remain in use until OLED gets cheaper. I dislike all LCD displays and am never going to buy one.
Fronts and Centre are biwired with Taranui speaker cables, and all equipment is powered by Aviemore shielded power cables (don't ask as I no longer sell these). The only other cables are HDMI which I don't make. In my workroom I have gaming PC based on an ASUS H170Pro motherboard, currently a Sony FA3ES amp, a Little Dot DAC and a pair of Celestion Ditton 100 speakers. The Celestions are in a custom cabinet with a overlarge front baffle to extend LF performance. The crossovers have been modified for bi-wiring. Cables are Pukeuri USB, Papakaio RCA, and generic large gauge OFC speaker cables (dual runs for each speaker). In the fullness of time the OFC will be replaced with Taranui. Just a bit lazy at the moment (a moment being about 2.5 years). Amp and DAC are powered by Aviemore. Should put one on the PC, and will do so shortly. Both system supports are a triangular modular system whose name eludes me. All bought second hand and needing of a repaint. Another job that I just seem to never get around to doing. A long time ago I had a really nice Micro Seiki TT with an Ortofon MC cartridge which had been retipped by the Garrott Brothers. I never really perfected a way of keeping the record surface clean enough, and I realise that some of you affectionadoes have and I respect you for it. I just gave up on it and embraced digital. What do I listen too? Anything other than the high rotate crap broadcasted in this country in lieu of real music. There's not much music that I dislike. Favourites though are Natalie Merchant, Richard Thompson, Led Zeppelin, the Clash, Ry Cooder, and many many others. If we ever tidy our house up I will post some pictures. Just don't hold your breath waiting.

Welcome Clothears, Be sure to post in the What I'm Listening to thread. Ry Cooder is a favourite of mine too. I still have a pair of your speaker cables in the spare room system.

I still have a pair of your speaker cables in the spare room system. And so you should. I know that there are better cables available than mine; and I get the feeling that my cables enable enthusiasts to realise that yes cables really do make a difference. Then with this knowledge, they go mad and spend (IMO) crazy money on cables. I might be the marijuana of the cable industry.

Still using your "Anaconda" speaker cables which will soon be put to the test against some TELLURIUM-Q Black II as well the RCA to XLR phono cable. Did you do a usb cable for me as well. The speaker cables have served me well, must be close to 10 years.

Hey cooks,
It's not like a stylus, they don't wear out with use AFAIK ! Welcome along clothears, have been thoroughly enjoying "Mock Tudor" of late, which after the disappointment of the "Rumour and Sigh" vinyl reissue, I'm starting to think might be one of RT's best albums. Haven't got any of your cables i'm sorry.

Greetings clothears & welcome! No problems marketing/selling products here - as long as it's clear who you are, a manufacturer/distributor/retailer or whatever. And, as michaelw sez, we have a dedicated forum area so as to minimise digressing of other threads. We all like seeing pics, looking forward to some

Means I must of ran with some cheap QED cables for nearly 4 years before upgrading.
