another magic potion for stylus cleaning
from the lyra website...
i've been using it for almost 18 months, replacing my ancient regime of last stylast and last stylus cleaner.
it's tricky to apply with the supplied cut bristle brush, the instructions say only apply to stylus tip and to clean the brush after every 5th use.
but the stuff works and extremely well.
in my experience with various liquid stylus cleaners, the spt would have to be the most efficacious.
you can easily see the gunk being pulled off the stylus and accumulating on the brush.
that in itself would make it good value but it also sounds good.
there's a more neutral effect than the last duo.
the lyra delos i use is already very quiet in the grooves but with an application of spt, noise is reduced even more.
lead-in grooves and the breaks between tracks are cd silent.
reproduction is a little bit more transparent and dynamics have an extra kick.
it's subtle but well worth the hassle of applying before every side.

LYRA Stylus Performance Treatment (SPT) is a purified water-based, non-alcohol stylus cleaner that helps keep cartridge styli scrupulously clean.
In addition to highly purified water, SPT contains only very small amounts of organic chemical cleaning agents.
SPT has proven to be completely safe to use with all phono cartridges (not only LYRA's).
