That day is fairly well locked into my memory. Was on holiday in Costa Esmeralda (Sardinia) and saw newspaper hordings in huge type proclaiming Elvis Morte.
I didn't need much Italian to figure that one out.
Enjoy his Sun sides and he was the first artist whose records I purchased with my own money, a brief flirtation until I heard the Rolling Stones . Unfortunately by that stage I believe the Sun recordings weren't generally available.
I picked up the Sun Collection on vinyl when it was released in 1975. It was an eye opener for those who hadn't heard or saw him in his pomp and prime.

I remember the day he died.

I was at school and couldn't recall exactly who he was, so got teased a lot about that!
