Does anyone have a low mileage Denon DL 103 they are willing to sell ? I am interested in continuing my dabbling with LOMC cartridges after the experience with the Excel. We could even consider a trade as I have a near new Ortofon 2M Blue or a Sumiko Premier FT3 arm sitting here. Whatcha got ?

Pretty sure that's where mine came from. Great deal,

He he, found myself bidding against Cliff again ! We'll have to come to some sort of arrangement on TM. The plan is to see if this used DL103 is compatible in my system before I splash out on a new version. I've learned that synergy is extremely important. An excellent example being my Excel Pro 81 which didn't sound anything special in my system until I paired it up with the Ortofon SUT. They are a perfect match for each other and sound lovely together.

I actually have never owned a 103, so wanted to try one out. I have an alu body waiting for it.
I only have 103R's.
Graham, let me know if it doesn't work out for you!

When I picked up the Denon tonight I was delighted to find it is actually a 103R not a 'garden variety' 103 !! Under my basic microscope the stylus looks fine and the cantilever is straight. Whew, TM is such a crap shoot. Have just installed it on the Sumiko MMT/Oracle Delphi and spun a couple of records with it fed straight into the MC stage of the ProJect Phonobox SE II. I'm still experimenting with impedance loading but so far 220 ohms sounds pretty nice. Very pleased with the purchase

What a relief for Citroen! Loading - the 103R has 1/3 the coil imped as a 103, so 150+ ohms should be good.

That's great news! I looked at that myself, but as you say, it's a gamble.
