Wow, Soundline have had Quad for years, saw it advertised on their online site quite recently too. Never seen any at Hardly Normal here. Who sells the other IAG stuff here ?

Looks like you will just have to import those 2912's from Singapore or HK MW ?

Harvey's still sell Perreaux, they never stocked / distributed Quad whatsoever. The IAG stable was moved to Monaco, who either lost or gave it all up a while ago - depending on who you ask. B&W (or whatever they call themselves) in Chch got Wharfedale. They aren't promoting it on-line as their onlinehifi website doesn't link to it and the same thing goes for the Wharfedale global site (it has a location that is B&W's service business), so maybe they aren't serious about it? Or just don't want to annoy Bowers and Wilkins by actively promoting another speaker brand? Either way, no one in NZ is sticking up their hand and claiming AudioLab, Quad or Mission. Why? Well that's a matter for debate.

My hazy memory cells seem to think PQImports were agents for Quad in nz, but their website is down at moment, although their FB page is current and they are still actively selling (VTL) on TM. The best stereo sound I ever heard was at a hifi show in Auckland back in the 90s, Paul Quilter had a room with a Wadia CD straight into massive VTL monoblocs, into the then top of the range Proacs. I went out and bought the cd he was playing, and it sounded nothing like I had just heard!

No I don't recall PQ ever having Quad. Looks like Soundline have only just lost it as they still have some models advertised. No 2912 though !

yes, pq might have had some quad when they were retailers, but distribution was a longtime denco staple.

Quad website doesn't list a distributor for here, but this may be due to them not being able to spell New Zealand correctly ?
