California-based Schiit Audio is interesting.... Mike Moffat was formerly founder, co-owner & designer for Theta Digital, in the early 90s. Jason Stoddard formerly ead engineer at Sumo (SS electronics). - Schiit use tubes & SS. - They use Delta-Sigma (in their less costly designs) & Multi-bit DAC chips (in their higher end DACs). - They put a lot of emphasis on headphone listening. - They are focussed on keeping the price down. - And....they manufacture in USA. - They sell direct-to-public.

I like the 'sound' of Schiit cables too, only $20/set.... Beyond Just Technology: SuperUltraHyperTechnology PYST cables are made from only the finest 6-nines Unobtanium™ alloy, molecularly assembled in our Alternate Universe™ reality-distortion tesseract field , using a secret geometry reverse-engineered from crashed UFOs, painstakingly smuggled out of Area 51 by deep-cover operatives. Performance is further enhanced by the use of a QuantConnect™ quantum-entangled pair of transmission interfaces, held at absolute zero by our exclusive Stasis Field™ technology. The cables are then wrapped in NanoAeroCap™, a nanotechnology-enabled aerogel anti-capacitance insulation system, featuring Fractal Interleaved Geometry™ to create negative inductance for maximum audio transmission quality.

Well really. Who uses unobtanium anymore? It's SO 2016.
I am a non-recovering audioholic, and Ivor is my higher power.

Refreshing to see a company that doesn't take itself too seriously, except when it comes to how well their products sound.
PYST indeed!

I like it that they appear to be happy to let their equipment do the talking.
