Im persistently working my way through a bulk amount of classical vinyl that came my way courtesy of Maxgate - as he quoted "down south we measure our vinyl by the yard" The strike rate is about 20% keepers - solely based on what I'm interested in by composer, artist/conductor/orchestra and after a quick listen; noting my very rudimentary knowledge of 'classical.' Lotsa good pressings - flat, clean - some unplayed, however most of the outer sleeves are very average. Labels include DG, Decca, Phillips, EMI etc. If anyone is searching for a particular classical recording - drop me a line. Happy to look if its amongst the haystack, its yours for the cost of postage. Drop me a PM. Then its off to the Opshop for the remainder, or if you're in Dunners, Im happy to pass them on to a good home - yours, or a contact. html image uploader

Hi foveaux - thanks for the offer. Anything by Mitsuko Uchida, pianist? Kyung Wha Chung, violinist? Any L'Oiseau Lyre (Decca) ancient instrument series? Just off the top of my head. Will think on it. Cheers.

Thanks sub - I see also there's a copy of Kyung Wha playing the Walton conc, which I already have. From what I can see, mostly NZ pressings & mostly older mono releases - the latter may be historically important & great arists, but unfortunately not worth too much ($1 or two maybe). I see some nice jazz listed & a copy of Springsteen's 'The River'. But $9 postage.... (I've never understood why seller & buyer should not share shipping costs on s/h items.)

But $9 postage.... (I've never understood why seller & buyer should not share shipping costs on s/h items.) A lot of Trade Me items are s/h. Shipping is almost always born by the buyer. $9 regardless of Island for up to 10 lps is quite good (its even at a loss for SI to NI NZPost shipping costing $15). I REALLY REALLY REALLY wanted one of his lps so bought a few others to lessen the impact of the shipping cost, even though the cost of the other lps was over market rate!

Foveaux- sorry, I ended up zipping in and out of Dunedin without notice. Proceed as if I never enquired and accept my apology. Not sure when I'm back.
