It had to happen really, didn't it? You reach a point somewhere along your personal descent into madness where you have the choice to celebrate said madness and embrace it for what it is and who you are - or you get a nice house in the burbs, buy your family wagon and muddle through your 9-5 life asking yourself not, 'who am I?' but rather; 'what's he doing?'
I chose the former and so what you see is what you get here. My long suffering geek pal guitardude can attest to this - I am the proverbial cut snake... but I smile a lot and boy do I have some fun... And so I and those who know me feel this was inevitable as I introduce to you, the latest addition to the Heathen whanau: Hearsey McHearse-Face...
But seriously, submissions are still open for an appropriate name. We're stumped...
1994 Nissan Cedric, custom converted to a hearse for a Japanese funeral home. Powered by the Nissan VG20E 2.0 Litre V6 so not overly powerful but more than adequate... And with only 45,000 on the clock, she's only really run in so not looking to change it. Wheels are DTM 18s wearing (cheap)235/40R18s.
Panel work is really well done but that said, the bottom seams of each rear panel are starting to rust beneath the paint. Nothing I can't sort out with an afternoon or two in a proper workshop and I know a car painter who does excellent work. All rubbers will need doing at some point also - but all in all, for what I paid, an excellent wee wagon and a unique classic in the making. To the best of my knowledge, the only one in the world. I love her already... And with a conversion to 'shaggin wagon' in the planning... Well, she's gonna be lots of fun...
