Can we start a thread on the most annoying habits of record stores ?
Here let me start:
Putting f...ing great stickers on the front of Lp's that are impossible to remove without taking a good portion of the record cover with them.
Misfiling would be my next biggest gripe: take a bow THE WAREHOUSE. Where it might be under the artists first or last name or the title of the album or just about anyplace else you might think of.

the warehouse is run by morons. a few years ago we had some idiot manage decreeing dvds should be displayed cover out, 5-6 deep making near impossible to search for anything, easy to damage stock and easy to leave a mess. eventually a lightbulb went off and dvds/bd are now shelved with the spines facing out making it possible to see all teh titles without having to handle the merchandise. the same original genius has now decreed that cds be displayed short edge down so they can squeeze in a few more justin beebers, taylor swift or whatever is the flavour of the minute. not too bad in the tiered shelves but out on the flat tables titles are now upside down, again making it hard to find anything. basic store display isn't rocket science, its almost as if the stores are actively discouraging sales. who's going to pay $90 (can't quite make out the price sticker) for this mangled sgt pepper boxset ?

Some JB HiFi stack their lp albums so tight you can't check the title.
The Warehouse - well LPs are just arranged willynilly, no attempt to file them in genre or alphabetically. And then there are the bargain bins of CDs - arranged so the spines face away from you so you have to read them upside down!
The bargain bins at Real Groovy don't make any attempt to file the stock in any order!
Don't mind scrabbling around bins/boxes in op/2nd hand shops as cheap bargains can be sometimes be found.

handy hint #32 - don't wear nice clothes if you plan on crate digging.

Handy hint #33. Take hand sanitiser when crate digging. Some of those covers are filthy.
Handy Hint #1 for LP shopping. Make a list of stuff you are looking for.

Headlamp, knee-pads, hand-sanitiser.... Latex rubber gloves speeds up flicking through records & has the added bonus of keeping clean

Have you ever seen RG staff flicking through the bins? You need sweaty hands or latex gloves. Seriously, this record 'digging' is for fun, a hobby, not stress.
