Thanks for the heads up, Owen . Didn't see this until nearly too late, but did see the last 40 minutes.
My affection for Neil Young's music only started in the 90s, so had some catching up to do, and while I have many of his recordings, cd and lp, do not have nearly enough. Especially a great fan of his CSN&Y days, although a lot of that groups music has dated - the issues they sang about were relevant then, are still relevant to me, but probably do not speak to a new audience.
My stand out performances? My CD of Praire Wind, a US import including a DVD, and of course his cameo appearance as a guest artist in The Last Waltz. Praire Wind, one of the tracks from that album closed tonight's show. Pure nostalgia.

A really nice film in a simple format built around full-length captures of Neil Young songs from a 2012 Toronto concert, interleaved with Neil Young rumbling around his home town & reminiscing in a big old vintage 50s Ford. Plenty of signature Neil Young grungy electric guitar reverb sound (concert SQ is noticeably v good). N Young likes his rough old vintage Les Paul & 6L6 tubed amps, I read. Enjoyed the classic 'Ohio' & 'Hey Hey, My My', along with quite a bit of recent N Young stuff I'd missed out on.

Glad to see it, enjoyed the sound, reminded me of discovering "Le Noise" just a few years back (& some were tracks from that!)
And also see The Making of Le Noise that explains the dual bass & upper guitar sounds he's able to get from that instrument...
This is the track-by track extended version of it...
And this is a very short riff on the proceedings, a trailer in effect
After, I'm reminded that I have a copy of his 2016 "Peace Trail", which I've hardly listened to yet, but recognised at least "Can't Stop Workin'" as off it.
But there's lots I've missed in the interim... I came in around the time of "Everybody Knows This Is Nowhere" after CSNY ...

reminiscing in a big old vintage 50s Ford. Erm, I think that was a big old Cadillac, his brother might have been driving one too... mentioned in the credits, not sure. He likes his old cars! (I liked his battered old hat! ;-) See those youtube clips I posted just earlier for a bit of a catch-up! Lots of great old gear in Daniel Lanois' impressive old house/studio, too! Cheers!

I think Bob (brother) was in the Cadillac, Neil was lounging in a Ford Crown Victoria. Thanks, I remember that famous bit of footage from Lanois' recording of Emmylou's 'Wrecking Ball', with NY flying down just for some harmonica & voice harmony on 'Sweet Old World'.
