Came across this one today and found it interesting although some of the maths escaped me. Custom Cans have been around for some time and their cables seem to have a good reputation.
Will confess that I have one of their Ultimate Cables shown in the video on the way to replace a slightly unwieldy Grado cable. I'm going to be very interested to see if I can find any sound differences.

Didn't watch the whole thing but wasn't very impressed with his soldering.

I don't know how to solder, so what was wrong with it? You still making cables clothears?

Soldering looks fine on the cable I received . I did note the soldering wasn't as neat as you'd hope for in the video but I guess time will tell. The cable does come with a two year warranty.
While I haven't done a side by side with the Grado cable I feel there's a bit more on the bottom end and a more 3D sound.
It's a definite winner in the bedroom system. The heavy Grado cable always fell away to the side and dragged on the headphones. This cable is extremely light and lies nice and flat. If nothing else is achieved it's an A+ there.

It's important to make sure that the wire and the connection point remain in contact and be stationary whilst the solder cools to ensure that you don't end up with a dry joint. Dry joints may still work but can be poor connections that with use and stress fail. Relying on your hand to be steady enough to achieve that is not good practice IMO. The use of flux to clean the connection was good though. I haven't been making cables for almost 2 years now, as I've been distracted by other things but I do intend to get back into it this year. My son did manage to get me to build a balanced cable for his headphones though.
