Of concern but not gone until the fat lady sings Administration is one of the many legal protections available to US companies when they get into trouble. I quite liked the Galileo designs that came out of the Fine Sounds merger, apparently I was in the minority as the line quickly disappeared. Googling for more on this I came upon this brief history of ARC up to it's last owner. www.strata-gee.com/audio-research-alone-again-naturally/

I liked the Galileo designs too, and thought that they were an attractive development from the deliberate laboratory style that ARC seemed locked into. Hopefully someone (or group) with deep pockets who is passionate about audio, but with good business instincts will take it on. It's a long way now, from the passionate pioneers that started up audio companies last century. My kids aren't even slightly interested in audio outside of Spotify through an iPhone speaker, or at best some ear buds. The current worldwide belt tightening doesn't help the audio industry, although ARC's typical clients may not be as affected by the cost of living crisis as the hoi polloi.

Sadly the next generation only seems to be invested in cell phone music.
Home audio is a Bluetooth speaker, or at best a decent pair of headphones.

I'm sure some investment company will come along an add AR it to their collection. We can only hope they will care about sound quality and not just the bottom $ line. And yes the Galileo line was a nice refreshed look, perhaps they should have stuck with that.

I had a vague memory they had been owned by the group which was owned in turn by Samsung but maybe that changed?

That was Harman International - Harman Kardon, Mark Levinson, Arcam etc. No ties to ARC. Got a friend who hates Samsung, so he buys an Arcam amp not realising Arcam is ultimately owned by Samsung

I found this ... so it all looks good for AR... a nice out come for all. My first thought was Ricardo Franassovici bought the company, he sure has the funds for it, but he's wiser then that :-)

Fremer visits Audio Research,
It's ironic that so many videos on audio have such awful sound, Fremer is no exception, the sound is really, really bad.
