My bedroom system consisting of Samsung TV with music streamed from devices. Marantz Silver Face 1060 using the power amp section only & Kef Reference 102 sitting on Velodyne subs. Problem is output from the TV is fixed both digital & analog so I need to use the Matrantz as volume control which then necessitates getting out of bed. 1st world problem I know
Not wanting to spend the earth on a preamp as it only gets occasional use that said it does sound pretty good. Options as I see it are a DAC with remote or analog pre with remote?
Suggestions would be welcome.

You lazy b'stard! 😁
"only gets occasional use" suggest you will only occasionally need to get out of bed...

I have a sabaj a10h. It's a remote volume resistor relay control with a headphone amp. You do have to point the remote at the box directly, though. There are tiny audible clicks for each change in volume. It's good. I use it on my tube amp so I have a remote control and also because the cheap potentiometer on the tube amp has a channel imbalance at low volume. It's not too expensive if you can wait for a special. As a headphone amp it's quite good too, but perhaps less so on planars and hard to push headphones.

When I had a bedroom wired for sound at my last place with a manually operated amp like that, I simply installed it near to the bed. In that case, an oak divan double bed with 3 drawers each side below - except one drawer was missing. I put a shelf there, amp on that, pillow end.
Just reach down to adjust the volume.
