Looking for a pair of headphones to connect up to my Bluesound Node. I've been looking at Sennheisers and seen all the usual suspects, 600, 650, 560 and the rest and would like to try a pair. Budget is no more than $300 as I may have to factor in an amp to drive the higher impedance models.

At that price I agree. Looked at the 650 but the govt forked out enough for the 660's during the first lockdown! Very happy with them.

Nearly pushed the button on the 6XX's when they were $179 US on Massdrop over Christmas but got sidetracked by YouTube reviews on 560's and 600's. It would be nice to listen to the differences between the models, unfortunately there's nowhere to audition them down here in Nelson. Saying that I'm sure I'd be happy with any of them.

Did you end up buying them ? Not sure the Node would drive them properly, do you use a headphone amp with yours

I amazed myself with the amount of restraint I had by not buying them.
I generally use an Auralic Taurus headphone amp, althought the headphone out on my McIntosh preamp is surprisingly good.

After another round of reading reviews I decided on the Massdrop HD58's due to the fact the Node should drive them without the need for an amp. Thought I'd wait until they were back on offer again but an unused pair just popped up Trademe tonight at a very reasonable price so I've grabbed them. I'll post my impressions in the Headphone section once I've had a good listen. Thanks for your help

I'm happy with the 6XX, hard to beat that value. I listen to them for long periods most days at work through various amps. I got in on one of the early Massdrop offers and Dad also ended up getting a pair.
