This made a lot of sense to me.
Essentially its good to change your components just to refresh your system and ears. You can have too much of a good thing and get "tired" with it.
That's why I like to swap my headphones and cartridges every now and then, renewing my love for each one's good points.
Do you have similar findings or are you happy with not chasing the eternal upgrade?

One of the benefits of headphones being relatively inexpensive to swap things around . Down to seven pair these days but enough scope from Grado to Oppo, Audeze to Audio Technica to stop things getting boring.
Like having two arms on the TT as well. Feel one cart/arm combo isn't doing it, flick a switch on the phono stage and try the other. Having two amps I can change out in seconds gives even more flexibility. Would like to upgrade what's between my ears but that's beyond help.

For the past year or so my system has sat mostly unused simply because I've grown tired of my record collection. Being a relatively recent convert to streaming I found myself listening more and more to Tidal through my phone whilst at work, really enjoying some of the recommendations they throw at you. It's because of this that I ended up buying a Bluesound Node to integrate into my kit at home, now I find myself firing the kit up most days, even if it's just to have radio paradise on in the background as I'm doing something else. I totally agree with the original post about swapping components out to keep things fresh but think the thrill of finding new artists is just as important for our hobby

I combine both, using my Bluesound to explore new music on Tidal and then I'll buy on vinyl to play back and enjoy the album art work and liner notes.

I have 5 arms for my SME 3, with different mm cartridges on each. Have a favourite cartridge that I keep going back to, but now and then feel the urge to try one of the others!! Most of them have a Jico SAS stylus in them, so they're all pretty good. Garrott P77, Stanton 881S, Shure V15/3, Grace F9, and a Technics 207. Had a couple of Technics 205/3's but they would only fit in the FR arm.The 207 is meant to be the next one down, and I found I had one in the "parts" box.Sounds good with an elliptical Jico in it, but I do have an SAS stylus I will try in it one day. Used to swap my amps around too, until I got this new Musical FIdelity M3si with a remote. No more "passive" preamps and it sounds better than the others anyhow. Before Christmas I decided to try out the Supra EFF interconnects. Found them a little less edgy on the highs than my Antipodes Komako cables in my system, so have sold most of my Komakos and Katipos and replaced most of my cables with the Supras.

I wondered who that was selling off all their Antipodes cables. Was tempted but because of my system set up, their lack of shielding has been problematic for me in the past. I wish that wasn't so, as they sound superb.

They do sound great, yes. My main problem with them was the length behind the plugs that can't bend, making it not possible to push the amp back far enough into the cabinet. Sold 2 Komakos to one guy. Still have one set that I had to repair, the cable let go in one plug. Easy enough to resolder but I'll hang on to them now. Interesting seeing how they were made.
