Hi everybody - my 22 year old son is interested in music (he produces lo-fi hip hop beats) and I bought him a decent second-hand Technics SL-D3 turntable for his birthday a few years ago when he was living in London. I was chuffed when he really loved it and started his record collection.
Unfortunately, when he moved back to NZ last year (as COVID was closing air travel) he had to leave his turntable behind and he only recently had it shipped back. Even more unfortunately, the tonearm has been jolted around in transit and the stylus was bent out of shape. I bought him a new stylus for his birthday and he managed to fit it but he has noticed that the tonearm is loose...
I understand what he needs to do but I'm in Sydney and he is just not confident or patient enough to diagnose the problem and fix it. Is there anyone you would recommend in Auckland (he is in Grafton) he could take it to at least diagnose his problem?
Thanks, in advance
