Not sure if its a figment of my imagination, but I definitely notice a much better sound quality increase in my hifi during lockdown. A similar thing happened last lockdown in Auckland.
A power supply thing? A psychological thing? Less electrical noise? Less general life/activity noise?

The last one Not so good here - too many peeps around, slagging off the choices.
We are what we pretend to be, so we must be careful about what we pretend to be.

Less background noise and less intermittent electrical demand on the network - unless on a line to milking shed.

A power supply thing?
How would this have changed? (just entertaining the question, but as an amateur, enthusiast.)
Actually, would more neighbours at home around you affect your power supply? Your equipment power supplies should protect you against mains-borne noise, ideally?
There is the DC on the mains phenomenon, but I'd thought that that might only apply in your own house? If not, more neighbours around home would make worse, so...
A psychological thing?
Quite possibly;- I'm at home alone, plenty of thinking time, music might be good, whether feeling calm or agitated? Expanding thoughts, new times to grok? Time out to focus? Relax?
Less electrical noise?
As for power supply above. Menno van der Veen wrote an appendix article and circuit about DC blocking in one of his earlier books too. But that's specific, technical, and you wouldn't rush into it without need - the capacitors would have to pass the full AC equipment current, as I understand it.
Maybe, but where would the purported more electrical noise be coming from, in un-locked times? Businesses around you?. Possibly? What causes 'noise' on or distortion of the mains AC 50 hertz? I don't know. My own gated apartment complex has it's own mini-substation, so likely isolated (and I don't get the Vector September payout either as a result).
Less general life/activity noise?
Relates to 'A psychological thing?' - but yes, much less traffic noise around here even in the CBD, and construction noise. And a row of restaurant back end exhaust fan noise.
(If it's not one building just finished out back after 18 months, it's another off to the front, 6 days a week, crane & construction sounds.)
So yes, I'd pick the last with a sprinkling of the second. Mind you, I'm enjoying long periods of silence as well. ;=})
I just re-potted a supermarket living mint and basil plant with potting mix and compost for my small balcony - took them inside a few nights to gently harden up - something to look after! Last time I did that, the basil took right off, grew really well. I hope I'm not too early for this one, it's still a little cold. But I'm encouraged to start a balcony garden again after a few years without.
It's nice to be able to hear music out on the balcony with much diminished city, traffic, restaurant exhaust fans noise below, in the background as well, for sure. Cheers! ;=})

I meant to add that. And white wine as well. And why not include beers and spirits. Whatever libations suit you and yours and enhance the general artistic experience?
Cheers !!! ;=}))

Actually, it was parsley, not mint.
I hope this one can grow as large as the last two, this one's flower being visited by a bumble bee, Feb 25 2018.
I'd like to make my own pesto, with extra virgin olive oil and, what was it, pistachio instead of cheapo cashew nuts? I still need to buy a pestle and mortar or a 'food processor'. Thanks for the reminder! ;=})

Wow, Michael, thanks so much! Bookmarked... Next, maybe we'll segue in to scifi, or at least in to power supply purity considerations with audio...
