For sale McIntosh MC500 Power Amplifier.
A very rare opportunity to own this mint condition vintage American power house. Released in 1994 this beast produces 500 watts per channel into an 8, 4 or 2 Ω load is the minimum sine wave continuous average power output. Mono block it & it produces 1000 watts. Don't be fooled by those big numbers because this amp has subtly & finesse reproducing the finest acoustic notes, enough to make the hair stand up on the back of your neck. Then in a millisecond fill your music room with the roaring splendor of a full orchestra or drum & bass subsonic boom.
This amp arrived in the country last year after professionally being converted to 240 volts. New glass faceplate & LED lighting conversion means the couple of minor niggles the model has had have been sorted. New aluminium handles finish its imposing look. A valve aficionado friend recently commented that if he was ever to go solid state he would choose this amp & I agree I have always owned valve amps before the BIG MC.
