I'm inspired to think of a " Show us your coloured vinyl " thread ... ! ;=})
I had difficulties with the A3 scanner & PC attached tonight, so can't post pics yet.
But I do have a pure white vinyl 45rpm Limited Edition Direct To Disc recording here, from Crystal Clear Records. (It sounds fantastic, really alive and real and in the room! )
Also a psychedelic splatter paint 12" 45rpm, like you'd make at the Easter Show decades ago, on one side. The other side is the reveal, but I'll see if I can scan, else take photos.
Surely there's more. I don't have a red one, let alone a green one! ;=})

Here's a track (not the initial one) off the white vinyl from someone else's rig (a few dusty clicks & pops!)
Thorens TD 160 Super / Signet MR5.0b cartridge, SME 3009 Series ii improved _
Not the same as live at home here, a different cartridge and deck, Stanton 600EE on a Sansui SR222MKV, but a hint of it on the net.
When you consider it was recorded live, direct to disc, still something. Remarkable presence, a right there in the room experience ... _

Beautiful. Thanks. So much nicer to look at than a silver CD which disappears into a tray or slot. Still, I'm glad I have the speed corrected and mono reissue CD of it.

I bought these random coloured vinyl for about $10 each for the sole purpose of making a display wall but never got around to it.

I especially like the translucent ones, even if tinted. However that started me wondering - why are most records black? Using carbon black, I remembered...
All vinyl records are made of PVC, which is naturally colorless. To turn this clear material into a solid color titanium dioxide and other additives are mixed in. To make the standard black vinyl color, black carbon is often added, which strengthens the PVC mix. To make any other color, dyes are used instead of black carbon. These dyes do not strengthen the vinyl in the same way as black carbon, but the difference is negligible unless mistakes are made in the production process.
A few exceptions exist: Clear vinyl, picture discs and glow-in-the-dark pressings are more susceptible to poor playback. Very few additives can be mixed into clear vinyl without jeopardizing the opacity, which means there is a potential for worse sound quality, albeit this drop is often imperceptible to the common listener.
Picture Discs are a different story. They are typically made of 3 layers. The first layer is a clear record with no music, the second is the picture layer, and the third is a clear plastic sheet that contains the grooves. This final thin and malleable plastic layer is not as durable as regular records, which can negatively affect both the playback and long-term durability.
PVC is a natural insulator, meaning that it will build up a static charge over time as it’s handled and interacts with other objects. Due to the fact that static electricity attracts dust, that insulative property could be potentially disastrous for records. Any dust that accumulates in a record’s grooves will grind in between the needle and the groove wall when played, wearing down both the groove and the needle, and potentially even becoming permanently lodged in the wall.
Carbon has conductive properties, so adding it to the PVC increases the overall conductivity of the material, lessening the accumulation of static, and therefore, dust, on a record. By coloring records black with carbon-based pigment, manufacturers ensure their records last longer and sound better.

Low light, hand held flash, so apologies for the picture qualities! San Francisco Ltd white vinyl - over-exposed: I remember going to the Auckland Easter Show as a child and being able to make a splatter painting on a rotating disc, like this: And what does it turn out to be, on side 1? A rather early Robert Plant. Bought for novelty value. Just as well; the music seems to have been forgettable! I mean I can't remember it, except a vague turn off. Maybe I'll listen again...

Only a couple of coloured discs in this house but I do have a laser etched copy of Styx - Paradise Theatre. Almost impossible to photograph so image is from the net.

Had to have a good think about what coloured vinyl I do have and possibly more than I remembered. Several Tim Bowness/Steven Wilson/No Man releases, nice pink for She Remembers Everything by Rosanne Cash, Red. White and Blue 3xlp set Ogden's Nutgone Flake, gold double lp reissue Stone Roses debut, The lioness Sessions from Songs:Ohia and Heartworn Highways by Townes Van Zandt. There's some picture discs as well which could fit into coloured vinyl.
Must charge my camera. Good project for a wet, windy day.

You've never played the lps! Nope.🥺 Par for the course. Just downloaded the 800 plus tracks of the usb stick onto my Fiio player. Did the same with volume two which I think is white vinyl. They're stored up high and a bugger now to get down. Both sets would make nice display pieces in the right room.

Sacrilege ! Often if a set has good quality downloads they will often be my go to versions but I play the vinyl at least once.
The Paramount box looks awesome ! Are the records 33 1/3 LPs or 78s ?
One of the things that pissed me off with the 78 Project vinyl records is that while the songs were cut at 78 on a vintage 78 direct-to-disc recorder, the vinyl was released as 33 1/3 LPs.
Grrrrrrrr

Lps are 33.3 Michael. The folder that holds the lps isn't too strong and there were complaints about the gold foil labels getting damaged in shipping. They're just stick on peelable from memory and the inner sleeves holding them had a label cutout so when the lps moved in transit they caught on the cutouts and got damaged. Handle with care. Lovely set though, books alone almost worth the cost. At one time there were some good deals on both Paramount sets. I got vol 2 from Amazon canada with $10 shipping and an almost one to one exchange rate. The usb tracks were mp3 but given the very poor state of most Paramount releases anything better was probably a waste. Shame their shellac was so in poor as their catalogue was exceptional.
