I bought this nice wee mini system(Pye Isotronic ESC400), I really like it. I wasn't so keen at first, as the speakers initially reminded me of the nasty silver systems the warehouse used to sell, but they actually look fine after letting go of that association.

Most Isotronic systems seem to be those all in one record/tape/radio units, with a not particularly flash reputation - but this one weighs a lot, and everything seems solid/well made with good components. Also has a very high output power rating for the size.

Most importantly, it sounds good too.

Was in lovely condition, just gave it a clean, including the tape heads.

I'd be interested to see any info about it, I couldn't find a single mention of it.

I'd like to keep it, but I'll probably sell it if it has a decent value, as I need the $ unfortunately.

I have one of the tape decks and I would like to find a service manual.

I guess these must be a re-badged Japanese design, right?

So does anybody know what overseas model it is based on?

Maybe the service manual for that model would do for this.

Pye were taken over by Philips in 1979, so their products after that date were probably rebadged Philips.
