BANG & OLUFSEN has launched a 'Renovation Project' to restore some of its most iconic heritage products from past decades.
The idea is to... " refurbish, restore and reimagine the Beogram 4000 series turntables. The original products have been sent to the company's laboratory in Struer, where they are carefully disassembled and manually inspected. What then follows is a thorough refurbishment and restoration of moving mechanics and electronic parts to ensure that the product can integrate with current technology in a contemporary home. "
The first product to receive this by-hand restoration treatment will be the Beogram 4000 series of turntables (designed in 1972 by Jacob Jensen), which will be " ready for re-launch later this year " in limited quantities.
Pricing & availability to be confirmed.

I wonder if, aside from an in-built phono-stage, A/D converter & USB output, what cartridge will be fitted to replace the special B&O plug-in mounting cartridges? (As I recall, Soundsmith acquired the rights to rebuild B&O cartridges)
The double linear-tracking arm is very cool, with sensor light on the inner arm for detecting the edge of the record.
